Fall brings colorful foliage, but it also brings color to local farmers’ markets. There are red apples and tomatoes, orange pumpkins, yellow sunflowers, green beans, and purple eggplants. Even a beginning chef knows that starting with fresh ingredients is best, and the best place to shop for those ingredients is at the farmers’ market. And, like every activity in New York, part of the fun is people watching. And to shop, of course.
