Lennon's-Birthday-Concert-001-2

Beatles’ historian, Martin Lewis, a self-confessed “Johnaholic,” hosted a joyful, down-home, rocking birthday concert to celebrate John Lennon’s birthday on Saturday night at Ethical Culture. Proceeds of the event went to Amnesty International. A mix of performers from both sides of the pond included Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton, Tom Chapin, Mark Hudson and Garland Jeffries, as well as Marshall Crenshaw, Earl Slick and the Quarrymen, Lennon’s original band. The musicians, young and old, all fans of Lennon’s music as well as his peace-loving, anti-war spirit, had as much fun as the audience.
